This backyard oasis is a three level deck overlooking the Salem/Marblehead Harbor. This job was one of the largest decks our deck techs have done to date, and had come with its own set of challenges. Being harborside, the home sits on the edge of a cliff! Our team had to be creative to work in tight such a tight space. To create the foundation for this three level masterpiece, the team had to drill through rock faces! Once the substructure was completed, the fun began! The deck boards are Deckorators pvc/composite decking. To curve the deck the boards were actually heated and bent to shape to create the bow front. To maximize the view, instead of traditional rails, airplane cables were used. Each rail post has down lighting that illuminates each floor in the evening. For a fun and functional purpose, a cocktail railing was installed as well.
